What is Coaching?
Coaching is a structured conversation between the Client and the Coach which empowers the client to face challenges, identify desires and reach goals. A coach will listen to you, ask questions and encourage you to make decisions and take responsibility for these decisions.
(What coaching is NOT)
Coaching is not about giving you advice or suggestions. It is not therapy or counselling.
How do I know if coaching is right for me?
Do any of these sound familiar?
You’re stretched thin, juggling so many responsibilities, and questioning how you can keep going at this pace.
You want to feel more in control but exhaustion makes even small steps feel daunting.
You know self care matters, but prioritising yourself feels impossible (or even selfish) when your loved one needs you.
You sometimes/often/always feel overwhelmed with what life is throwing at you and you don’t know how to make any changes?
You want to make changes for yourself, but you’re constantly putting others first.
You feel overwhelmed by the demands of caring for someone else - not just the daily responsibilities, but also managing meetings, advocating in MDT, EHCP, CETR, CPA (etc. etc.) discussions, and coordinating with professionals who don’t always see the full picture.
You’re ready to explore new ways to lighten the load without neglecting yourself or those who rely on you.
Coaching gives you the space and support to help you regain balance, reduce overwhelm, and create meaningful change - both for yourself and for those you care for.
What will happen during a coaching session?
My coaching sessions are carried out online, via Zoom or Teams.
The content of the session will be determined by your needs and what you want to achieve.
We might cover questions like:
What do you want to work out today?
What’s feeling unclear or overwhelming right now?
What do you need to understand to move forward?
If anything were possible, what would you do next?
There's no pressure, just an open conversation to help you untangle your thoughts, gain clarity, and make confident decisions in your own way. Coaching allows you to shift from feeling stuck to discovering the answers that already exist within you—it can be a truly freeing experience.
Each session will last a maximum of 60 minutes and we will agree the date and time of the following session before we finish.
Sessions can be weekly or fortnightly.
How should I prepare for a coaching session?
To ensure that your time in coaching is well spent, you are expected to come to the session fully prepared with an issue or problem to work through. If you know what your goal or aspiration is, even better!
Please take some time for yourself before the session to clear your head and feel refreshed, relaxed and ready to start.
You may find it helpful to have a pen and paper to hand and any other items you feel will be useful, such as a diary, sensory tools (a ‘Tangle’ or piece of blutack) or a drink.

A blend of coaching and mentoring often works beautifully, and you are in control of how that happens."
